Briana, I know this may not be the best place to ask, but didn’t know how else to ask you a question! I wanted to ask if oat fiber can be used in place of all purpose flour in any recipe??? I want to make sugar cookies and other than the sweetener, the flour source needs to be substituted. I just made some with coconut flour and let me say, I’m not a fan! 😉 Thank you so much!!

Hi Jenny! There’s a contact form under the “About Me” tab if you ever need to ask a question, but this is fine too. 🙂 I’ve never used oat fiber 1:1 for all-purpose flour in a recipe, so I don’t know the answer to your question. I usually have the best results with a blend of flours, and I know a lot of other people have said the same thing. So that would be my suggestion to you: use a blend of low-carb flours. It can get a little tricky to know how much liquid to use with certain kinds of flours because some absorb more than others, so just use your best judgement and add more egg/unsweetened almond milk/sour cream/Greek yogurt if it seems too dry.
Another option would be to use an already-fixed recipe. Here’s a cookie recipe that was just released in the December THM e-zine: http://www.trimhealthymama.com/ezine-trim-holiday-cookies/

Thank you, Briana, Merry Christmas!! I just decided to not waste my precious almond flour on cookies since I needed it for cheesecake crust! I will try this recipe in the future. 🙂

I made Our Favorite Soup and it was a hit!! Love, love, love the flavors and it is so easy. I made it a second time for a family get together and mistakenly added jalapenos instead of the chopped green chilies–whoa–it had a kick. If you don’t like spicy, don’t make that mistake!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Thanks for this! It’s a terrific price for all the information. I’m really trying to cut back on my grocery budget, and my husband and I love soups anytime of the year, but especially when it’s chilly outside. I’ll be trying all of these recipes.
