Some of my favorite reviews
Please note: This book is not endorsed by Trim Healthy Mama and I use my own recipe labeling system, which you can see in the FAQs section below.
“Time for my personal review on my new favorite cookbook. I’m actually not really a cookbook kind of cook but this one is a gem. I’ve been a rather quiet blog follower of @brianamthomas for at least 4 years, and I’m so excited about actually owning her cookbook. There are so many amazing features, like the spiral-bound hard cover, gorgeous photos, and the fact that all the recipes are THM-compatible. BUT. This book is NOT just for Trim Healthy Mamas. My FAVORITE part about this book is the huge selection of both main & side dishes. This is not weird diet food, just tasty nutritious whole foods focusing on good proteins, complex carbs, and vegetables. There are a bunch of ethnic recipes that I am looking forward to trying. Oh, and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the Panfried Chicken Strips and the Cow Sauce (think Chick-fil-a?) that we had for supper last night. ‘Mmmmazing!” (@mipamillyjane)
“Just received my cook book, Convenient Food, and just can’t put it down. It is far more informative and full of so many healthy and sensible-eating recipes than I ever expected. Informed my husband that he would be eating totally different in the future – and for the good of us both.” (Pat C.)
“I just received Convenient Food in the mail yesterday and there’s SO many things I love about it already and I’ve only gotten half way through. Love the hard cover and the spiral binding. Love all the E options which I struggle getting in. Love that you list the dry ingredients then the wet to reduce the amount of measuring spoons/cups I have to wash. I’ve been saying for years cookbook writers need to do that! I prepped the very first recipe last night and popped the apple pie baked oatmeal in the oven this morning. When it was done baking I set it on the rack to cool and went for my morning walk. It was a brisk 57 degrees which is face numbing for this Arizona girl. Let me tell you, that warm apple pie oatmeal was awesome. I can’t wait to try all the other recipes. Thanks for all your hard work putting it together and congratulations on your recent marriage!” (Cindy B.)
“My mom got me your newest cookbook and gave it to me last night because she couldn’t wait for Christmas 🙂 My kids looked through it this morning and picked out the cookie dough shake to try for breakfast. They LOVED it. It’s their “favorite shake ever and since it’s healthy we should have it a lot!” We’ve already planned several of your recipes into the coming month’s menu. Thank you so much for all the work you put into producing such lovely books. The pictures, notes, quotes, and recipes are all very well laid out and visually stunning.” (Courtney S.)
“I was so excited to get this cookbook yesterday. I should NOT have picked up the mail in the morning because all I could think about at work were all of the amazing recipes I knew I would find in it. It took all of my willpower not to use a sick day to go home and immerse myself in the pages. ? This THM-friendly cookbook has a great balance of S, E and FP meals. You can tell that Briana’s cooking has evolved since her first cookbook (Necessary Food, which I highly recommend). There is a higher concentration of savory recipes and lighter, more calorie conscious, recipes. She keeps the ingredient lists short and simple and they all seem do-able, instead of intimidating. As usual, Briana brings a lot of creativity to the table. Some of the recipes are pure genius. Pumpkin stuffed french toast, lasagna cabbage rolls & strawberry cardamom superfood ice cream are just some of the recipes on my must-make-asap list.” (@trimhealthyhome)
“Briana Thomas new cook book is Worth. Every. Penny! We’ve been out of town for two weeks, so my fridge was pretty empty. But you’d never of known! I grabbed some drumsticks out of the freezer along w/ some broccoli & brown rice (for kids). I made killer broasted chicken drumsticks & “broccoli that tastes like the asian stuff at the mall”? My 3 & 2 year old ate every bite. My husband got seconds, & my pregnant self also cleaned my plate. I still haven’t made it to the store & had nothing for myself for lunch. It’s cold & raining outside, so I went looking for a hot sipper. Single serving of hot drink custard has filled my belly w/ all the healthy fat & protein this growing baby needs. Thank you for such a killer cook book (that is spiral-bound??)” (Katie C.)
“Fuzzy blanket, fuzzy socks and reading my fav author’s latest cookbook! Another wonderfully written, logically compiled, beautifully illustrated and awesome cookbook Is now in my hot little hands and will enjoy a place of honor lying on my kitchen island. (I’m a bit of a minimalist when it comes to items taking permanent residence on any of my kitchen countertops, much to my spouses’s dismay.) Thank you for the many hours of labor you spent on the book! ?” (Cheryl G.)
“This is one of the nicest cookbooks I’ve ever bought. After I’ve had a chance to go through it thoroughly I’ll be purchasing the other. Love the side tabs, makes it so easy to find a section. But I especially love the heavy duty spiral and the heavy duty cover (almost food proof lol).” (Evelyn D.)
