I’m sure this is an idea that most of you have already thought of and implemented, but in case you haven’t, I thought I’d tell you about it. This fried cream cheese and berry taco is one of my favorite “naughty-tasting” desserts, and it happens to be a great way to get that fried food fix while ingesting your daily dose of coconut oil. Coconut oil has tons of amazing properties that a science textbook would do a better job of explaining than I would. In common English: I feel better when I eat coconut oil and it helps me lose weight and feel trim.
This taco is very easy and only takes a couple of ingredients. Simply place a low carb tortilla on a flat surface, smear some cream cheese over it (either full or reduced fat), add a dollop of Greek yogurt for more creaminess and protein without many calories, top with some blueberries (fresh or frozen), sprinkle a packet of Truvia over the top, fold it up, and fry it in coconut oil. Sorry guys…this is another recipe that I refuse to give measurements on because it’s just that simple. I’ll try to give a few approximations in the recipe below. You could easily substitute strawberries, blackberries, or raspberries for the blueberries.
Trim Healthy Mamas, this can be used as an S snack or dessert.
Question of the day: what’s your favorite way to get your daily dose of coconut oil?
You can find this recipe in my cookbook, Necessary Food.

- 1 low carb tortilla
- 1-2 T cream cheese (reduced or full fat, softened if necessary)
- 2-3 T Greek yogurt
- Small handful of fresh or frozen blueberries or other berry of choice
- 1 packet of Truvia (3/4 tsp. spoonable Truvia, or half that of THM Super Sweet Blend)
- Dash of salt, optional
- Coconut oil for frying
- Spread the cream cheese in the middle of the low carb tortilla (leaving space for folding on all four sides). Top with the Greek yogurt and blueberries, and sprinkle the Truvia and salt over the top of everything. Fold each side over and secure in the middle with a toothpick (so it looks like a square wrapped present). Fry on both sides in coconut oil until golden brown and crispy. Enjoy!
Suggested products:
- Truvia
- THM Super Sweet Blend can be purchased from the Trim Healthy Mama online store.
Fold like a burrito, air fry at 375 for 6 minutes, let sit for a couple of minutes…saw a similar recipe that cooked it like that. Turned out great.
Delicious!! I was hangry and didnt follow the directions…but will next time…lol
it was messy and delicious.. very creamy
This is AMAZING. I’m not doing THM or keto. I’m watching calories and trying to stay in a deficit and this recipe is a god send! I used 1tbs cream cheese, strawberry cheesecake light + fit yogurt, carb balance torilla, 60 grams of blueberries and a 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil for 197 Calories!!!!!!! Tastes like heaven. Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks so much, Sonya! Love to hear how you’re making it work for your diet. Thanks for sharing how you did it!
So happy I came across this! Doing Keto and made it work! What a treat! Thanks 😊
Anyone know of a low carb, gluten free wrap?? This looks delicious but wonder wraps gross me out, and most low carb store ones have gluten 😬
I used to eat these several times a week using Joseph’s lavash bread. Now I love overseas and we do not have any tortillas much less low carb ones. Any idea what I can use as the base?
I’m sorry – I don’t have any great ideas off the top of my head! Maybe try to find a homemade low carb tortilla recipe? I don’t know if the THM Wonder Wraps would work or not.
Britney, put your cream cheese in a bowl and either zap it for a few seconds to soften it or leave it out until it softens. Add your sweetener and stir. Add your yogurt and stir. Add your berries and stir. Eat and enjoy! I eat it that way all the time and it reminds me of eating cheesecake with berries. Strawberries work well, too.
I made the fried blueberry cream cheese taco this morning and it is a game changer! I do not like fried eggs…gag gag..and while I do like oatmeal, you can’t eat E breakfasts every single day. This was delish…I just used 2 tblsp cream cheese with the blueberries and sweetener (can’t choke down greek yogurt either) with on plan sweetener and it was just yummy….I did also sprinkle a half scoop of collagen for extra oomph. Thank you, Brianna, for your awesome recipes.
This is an amazing recipe! My tummy and my taste buds thank you. I also added a sprinkle of cinnamon on mine. So good!
I recently made Sarah Montana’s Cheesecake Berryman salad. I’m thinking that I could use some of the leftovers of that salad for the filling of this taco. There’s heavy whipping cream in the “dressing” in addition to the cream cheese but there is also quite the variety of berries too.
I bet that would be good!
You mentioned that your readers had probably thought of this recipe already, but I sure hadn’t! I had never thought of this recipe and it is DEFINITELY a keeper and repeat customer for me!!!!! It is so satisfying and gives that fried taste and enjoyment. The texture inside is so creamy and the taste is satisfying like a dessert, so I am making one right now for my breakfast as a way to change things up and because I have freshly picked cherries. Can’t wait to try the NEW taste with cherries. Thank you, Brianna!
You are so welcome, Julie! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! <3 Just keep in mind that cherries are a THM E fuel so using them in this S recipe might give you a crossover. 🙂 Still healthy, just not as weight loss promoting as a single-fueled meal.
This look so yummy! I can’t wait to try it!
Enjoyed with a Trimmy this morning, one 8f my favorites. Thanks, Briana!
So glad to have made this! On a 5 star rating this is a 10 for me and as simple as it is I will be making them and storing to have for breakfast and some for desserts. Just the thing to keep my adult daughter and on plan, thanks Briana.
Thank YOU, Sharon! <3
We are making this for lunch ?♥️? yuuuummmy ???
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I was wondering, do you think these would freeze/reheat well? I like to keep a few options for my husband for when I’m out.
I kind of doubt they would. 🙁 You’ll lose the crispiness.
What about if you reheated in an air fryer? We love reheating almost any solid food in the air fryer. It’s a game changer for us.
I don’t have an air fryer, but I’d love to know if that works!
Hi Briana! LOVE this recipe! I’ve been following THM for quite awhile and just started a new blog where I talk about THM, among other things. Just thought I’d let you know I linked to this recipe in a roundup of THM foods that I like and think would be good to make on New Year’s Eve. I’m not a recipe developer, but am thankful to all of you that create yummy recipes for us THMer’s to enjoy!
Thanks, Lisa! I’ll have to check out your blog.
Hi! Could anyone suggest the healthiest low carb wraps to buy, without a lot of junk in them? I’ve never bought them before. Thank you!
For THM purposes, any low carb wrap with 6 grams of net carbs per wrap or less is fine. 🙂 I’ve used many different brands and am not a great expert on which are the “healthiest.”
I thought it was absolutely delicious, than you so much for posting it.
Definitely 5 outof 5 stars (for some reason it would only let me mark 3
Is this considered a snack or a meal? I make this often and LOVE IT! It is so good, thank you for the recipe. However, it doesn’t keep me full for very long.
This is more of a snack or dessert and you should eat some protein with it. 🙂
Where do you find a low carb (5 grams or less) tortilla? Theses look delicious!
Most local grocery stores carry them. 🙂
I was surprised, this is very delicious. I used Joseph’s Lavash bread.
LOVE LOVE theses!!! have made them a few times. actually make them with strawberries. YUMMMM. Thanks!
A little bit ago, I really wanted a sweet snack – that wasn’t chocolate. First, I thought some sort of ice cream or shake substitute. Then I remembered I had all the ingredients to make this. So I mixed the cream cheese, yogurt, and sweetener together – and the blueberries smelled freezer burned. So did the raspberries. What to do? I drizzled a tablespoon of sugar free strawberry preserves over the filling and fried it.
Seriously, I wanted to go back out to the kitchen to make another one. It was THAT good! 🙂
Mmm…that sounds AMAZING!
I made this today without the Greek Yogurt because I didn’t have any. I am not a huge Blueberry fan but try to eat them because they are healthy. This was very yummy, even with Blueberries! I will be having this again, soon. Thank you for all of your awesome recipes!
I made this with strawberry Greek yogurt and strawberries and OMG it was amazing! Tasted like a toaster strudel!
Can these be made then frozen? I’m looking for make ahead breakfasts for my kiddos
I’ve never tried that, Tina, so I’m not sure! I doubt they’d be as crispy, but maybe they’d be OK if you reheated them in the oven. Worth a try!
Has anyone tried this with Wonder Wraps? I’m not a wheat eater but I made a batch of Wonder Wraps II tonight from THT and wondered if they would work….?
Just had this for breakfast and it was so good! I didn’t have low carb tortillas in the house so used a Joseph’s pita. I separated it into two circles and divided the filling between the two of them. Instead of using toothpicks, I wrapped it up and put the sealed side down in the coconut oil to seal it and it worked. So delicious. Is this enough protein for a breakfast? Thank you, Briana. I always love your recipes.
I’m so glad you liked it, Janet! I would add some protein if eating this for breakfast.
Just made this and it was so good! Looking forward to making it again! Thanks for the recipe!
Could this be refrigerated and heated up later? I’m looking for snack ideas (for afternoons at work) and this looks DELICIOUS!
I think it would probably lose its crispiness if not eaten fresh, but it should still be good. 🙂
I think you are right 🙂 I am thinking about going a slightly different route! I will make the filling as a dip and use lavash or low carb tortillas to make cinnamon chips…just a little deconstruction! Lol
That’s an awesome idea!
I love that idea. I think I’d still fry the tortilla ‘chips’ in coconut oil though because that’s just plain yummy. But I like the idea of a dip. Might be good with apple slices too.
I just made this and it was amazing!! Any tips on keeping the filling inside the taco when you flip it over? My toothpicks didn’t quite do the trick…
*forgot to say that I used blackberries and raspberries and 3/4 tsp sweetblend and it was delish!!
You could try just folding it over onto itself like a half moon. 🙂 That might work better for you.
These are amazing. Best thm recipe I’ve tried. Made them for breakfast. ❤️ I’m buying your book NOW!
So I had some issues with my tortilla breaking before it made it to the pan… I have since found an alternative method. I do half a tortilla, fold that in half (each piece like a triangle) add filling to one side, add little cream cheese to edges of other side to kind of act like glue. Then I cook it in my waffle maker!! I spray each side of the tortilla itself with coconut oil spray. I would imagine it’s much better with more oil, but my method is working. It’s kind of like a sweet quesadilla!! Yum!!
DO THESE BERRY TACOS FREEZE WELL?
I personally wouldn’t try that; I’m afraid they would get soggy when thawed.
This is absolutely amazing! I am new to THM, and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth and love of fried food. Thank you!
Just made for the first time…oh my!! Is this legal?? 🙂 So yummy!! Thanks!
This came up on my feed at just the right time for my mid morning snack. I have been meaning to try it since I first saw it. I used frozen strawberries thickened with glucci and it is delicious! Had to stop eating to comment.
Aw, thanks Helen! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Well I had something else planned tonight for supper but saw this recipe and it looked fantastic and delicious. So what is a girl to do but swap it out. So glad I did cause it was sooo yummy. This is definitely a keeper recipe that will go on my weekly THM menu plan. Another great recipe Briana. If anyone is looking at this recipe, don’t just pin it and forget about it. You really should make it cause you won’t be disappointed. 🙂
I’m glad you saw it and tried it! This is one of my personal favorites, too!
I finally made this last week and have made it about 10 times since. (My 16 and 18 y/o girls keep asking me to make it as well.) This is so good!! Since I eat it so frequently I lighten it up sometimes by using no cream cheese and using extra yogurt. I add a little gluccie to thicken the yogurt, some stevia, vanilla, and a drop of lemon EO. (I like the EO better than juice in this recipe.) Blackberries are especially good with the lemon vanilla yogurt. I also don’t have any low carb tortillas so I used half of a Joseph’s lavish bread. Please keep creating wonderful recipes that help keep me on track!
I made this today with skinny chocolate (no fruit—I had that separately). It was so delicious! 🙂 Thanks for another great recipe!
I made this tonight and I have to say that this was amazing! I used Triple Zero vanilla yogurt instead of plain and just little bit of sweetener (since there was already sweetener in the yogurt). I felt positively indulgent eating this and would be fine with serving it to guests.
Is that plain Greek yogurt or flavored?
I used plain, but you can use flavored if you like.
Wow. Love your recipes! The most recent time I went yo your website something spammy popped up. Cheers.
Sorry about that, Nikki…the ad network I work with tries to block those, but once in awhile an ad or two slips through the cracks.
Oh my….so simple but yummy. About halfway through eating it I had this feeling of guilt and had to remind myself that it was actually good for me! Thank you for all your recipes! I will definitely make this again 🙂
Great idea! I usually do this with marinara, mozzarella and pepperoni but making a sweet one works too!
Just made this….absolutely delish! Thank you for sharing!
Briana, loving this recipe! Mrs Criddle said her hubby was asking for her Faux Monte Cristo sandwich from which I was inspired to add ham to your taco. Frozen raspberries in my freezer need to be used and fresh spinach fried in coconut oil also found their way into the taco…. Awesomely delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner! “)
Thank you for sharing your spare time and energy sharing thoughts and recipes.
Gratefully,
Dawn
Now you’re making me hungry…
I just wanted to say that these are very good! I think I’ve made them three times now and they are such a treat! Today I used blueberries that we picked last night, so it was a delicious way to enjoy some of summer’s best! I use Mission Bay low carb tortillas, and with a nice amount of filling, one of these was enough to call it lunch! Thanks, Briana, for this GREAT web-site. I’ve been very impressed since finding it last month and it has been both helpful and inspiring with my THM diet, which I started in May. I look forward to seeing what new recipes you have up your sleeve. 😉
Thank you for the encouragement, Joanna!
Oh Brianna! What have you started? Next time you make it, try it with some generous dashes of cinnamon- my oh my! And what about some healthy chocolate? You’ve really got me thinking . . .
Skinny chocolate and I have not been on good term since getting pregnant (I know, what a terrible food aversion to have). But now I’m thinking I just might be able to get me one of those chubby coconut oil fed babies after all! Thanks for the delicious idea!
Awesome! Thanks for the tips…and I totally agree, chocolate needs to be in these somehow. Maybe some Lily’s chocolate chips or chopped 85% dark chocolate? With raspberries…mmm
Oh my goodness! This is why I shouldn’t check the box that allows all follow up comments to be sent to me! Have mercy! Chocolate and raspberry was phenomenal!!! My one THM splurge are the Lily’s original chocolate bars. I savor them due to their expense. I took one row (5 small squares) and chopped it, and placed a small handful of our homegrown raspberries on top. It was AMAZING!!! DO IT!!! =)
oh.my.goodness…… I just made these for myself and dear hubby last night for dessert and they were awesome!!! I will admit I fried them in butter . . . ! They were SO good . . . like a naughty treat at the State Fair!! I know they would be more beneficial in coconut oil . . . will have to get another jar of refined coco oil to avoid the coconut taste on these. Thanks, Brianna! 🙂
Oh my goodness, this is the BEST thing since the invention of chocolate! I am in LOVE!!! I found this recipe on Pinterest, and repinned to try later…well, today I tried it, and there are just no words for how delicious it is!!! Thank you, thank you!!!
Well considering the fact that I am an extreme chocoholic, you just gave this thing a huge compliment. 😉 I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
I agree with you, Pam – this vies with chocolate!!! 🙂
Just starting THM and confused. Would love this for breakfast but don’t drink any kind of milk. Can I add something else to make it an on-plan meal rather than snack.
Do you mean that you’re dairy intolerant? If so, there are probably other recipes out there that would be better adapted to your needs since this one relies on the cream cheese/Greek yogurt for its basic flavor.
Fabulous concoction! Made it for my supper…
Pretty sure it’ll be my breakfast too. “)
Wow. So yummy! And it only takes a couple minutes to whip up. Will definitely make this again.
Ok, I’m going to have to say that your blog is one that makes me almost want to try THM again! Especially recipes like this one. 🙂 If I ever decide to . . . this will be the first place I come to for help and recipes.
I do have one question that some of you THMers might help with: how do you get a “sugar lover” over the weird taste of stevia? Plain and simple – I don’t like the taste, but I also know how bad sugar is for us. I try to reduce it, but am wondering if you have any ideas on beginning to supplement stevia.
Keep it up, Brianna! You do an excellent job on your blog.
~ Kendra
Hi Kendra! First off, I really enjoy reading your blog, and seeing your comment was really cool. 🙂 To answer your question, the brand of stevia makes all the difference. They are NOT all created equally. The THM brand is by far the best tasting I have tried. When using stevia, a little goes a long way. Use too much, even by a little bit, and you’ll taste it. Some brands are definitely more forgiving than others, though. Stevia is definitely an acquired taste for some people. I never really had a problem with the taste, but if you’re just starting out and don’t like it, use it along with other sweeteners instead of just using stevia. I like to use a combination of pure stevia extract powder and Truvia for the best taste, especially in chocolate recipes (chocolate and stevia have a hard time getting along in my mouth, for some reason). And then of course there’s the fact that if you still dabble in sugar, stevia will never taste quite as good. Plain and simple truth. 🙂
Thanks, Brianna!
I agree with Brianna – THM Sweet Blend is the best tasting. And my husband kept saying, ‘you could use less sweetener and I’d like it better.’ So I tried that, and lo and behold I liked things better, too! Whoever would have guessed that less sweetener could be a good thing?! So if a recipe calls for 2 tsp. Truvia, that would be like 1 tsp. Sweet Blend – and I end up using about 1/2 tsp. Sweet Blend!
Thanks for the tip!
I just made this for the first time and did not use any sweetener. Next time I will warm up my frozen blueberries, they were a little cool. LOL I think that will also bring out the sugar in the berries a little. I use very little Stevie except in baked goods. I think you can di this plan without sweeteners if you really don’t like the taste.
Briana, you are the best, love your recipes!!!
It also depends on how you use the stevia. I thought I could never be in a diet with only stevia because I loathe iced tea with stevia! The first time I tried a Trimmy light or a GGMS Mama Dew, with either Now stevia or Sweet leaf stevia. I knew it wasn’t as bad as I thought. The desserts and meals have really been doable and helped me with so many cravings. But I just can’t have iced tea….. some day I’ll find a work around, until then blueberry ggms is a great sub.
*In response to the ? on STEVIA, I have found the Stevia from BOLIVIA is amazing with NO bitter taste, SUPER sweet…A tiny bit goes a long way, (its the only stevia I use) I just order thru ebay, (the mini container has no additives)
I Love your POSTS…. just down to earth plain, normal, Happy people trying to live a healthy life & taking care of our family & vessels, THANK-YOU! for your encouragement………..
Its huge to see a younger generation step up & hang on to whats REALLY important in life!
by the way my husband got me your 1 cookbook for Christmas so…… I’m looking forward to trying alot of your HEALTHY recipes,
Blessings…………
Thank you so much for the recommendation as well as the kind words, Marj! I’m so glad you stopped by!
I get in my daily coconut allowance 😉 my adding a nice rounded tablespoon to any of the THM {S} shakes or smoothies.
I just found my S snack for the day!
I’d like to have this for breakfast!!!!
Oh, my! This sounds so good…and I could probably make this one, because it is not asking for any unusual ingredients. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing. I’m pinning for future (hopefully) use!
Hi! Could anyone suggest the healthiest low carb wraps to buy, without a lot of junk in them? I’ve never bought them before. Thank you!
I’ve heard that Mission makes a brand that’s pretty good. 🙂
Is that the kind you use Briana? I’ve been meaning to get some Joseph’s…and just haven’t made a trip out to the store that I know carries it. And these looks lovely! Is one filling enough for a snack? Or is it better as a dessert?
You weren’t supposed to ask that question…haha. 😛 I’ve used quite a few different kinds. Mostly I use whatever is cheapest and available and has 5 grams of net carbs or fewer per wrap. While some of the ingredients may not be technically on plan, that’s been my choice to make the plan doable for me. One of these tacos is great for a dessert and quite possibly would be enough for a snack. Just make sure you add the Greek yogurt to get some protein in if using it for a snack on its own.
This is the second day I’ve made this for lunch “dessert” (it’s a thing to have dessert after lunch too, right?!)… =) Today a friend stomped on my heart right before lunch, and while I definitely sought comfort from the Lord first, this dessert BEFORE eating more protein for “lunch” was definitely comforting too. =) Thanks for sharing all of your great recipes – some of us aren’t creative enough to come up with even the easy stuff on our own! 😉
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and yes, dessert after lunch is definitely a thing. 🙂
These are the 2 tortillas I like the best and I find them at Target:

Mama Lupe’s low carb tortillas are amazing!
LOVE LOVE theses!!! have made them a few times. actually make them with strawberries. YUMMMM. Thanks! I make them with the spouted Ezekiel tortillas at Trader Joe’s.
THIS LOOKS SOOOO GOOD! Thanks
I have done this without fruit, but sprinkle a cinnamon/Truvia mixture on the outside when I take it out of the pan. I can’t wait to try this one; I love blueberries!
This looks amazing! Just bought low-carb wraps and am making this tonight!
wow i loved that berry and cream cheese taco.. twas amazing!!! thanks for all the great posts:)
I thought it was absolutely delicious, than you so much for posting it.
Definitely 5 outof 5 stars (for some reason it would only let me mark 3)
I tried this fried cheese and berry taco! WOW! This is so so yummy! I was tired of bacon and eggs, etc, and when I saw this recipe I gave it a try and was I surprised how awesome it tasted! Thank you!
