Some friends and I recently went up to Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, to see a friend of ours who is going to school at Faith Builders Educational Programs (you can check out their website here and their Facebook page here to learn more about their ministry). I thought I’d share some pictures of our time there.
Fall foliage on the drive up…
While Katy was taking a math test, we girls went outside and had fun taking some pictures of the fall decorations and other assorted picture-worthy stuff.
Faith Builders is housed in an old school building that has been refurbished. Multiple levels and new wings added over the years make for an interesting layout that the unsuspecting visitor could easily get lost in. No, I didn’t get lost, I promise. Thankfully there are plenty of signs everywhere.
The leaves were at their peak while we were in Pennsylvania!
Street decorations…
In the foreground you see the Christian day school run by Faith Builders. The FBEP students who are in the teacher’s apprentice program get to “practice” on the students at the Christian school on the premises.
There are two cute Northern churches at the end of the road that Faith Builders is located on. We girls had fun photographing them, much to the amusement of the people who passed us on the road. We waved. They didn’t. Like, what is it with northerners? (Don’t worry – I know that there are plenty of friendly northerners, my parents being two of those. However, the northern vibe is much different from the southern one in relation to friendliness to random strangers.  I had fun walking through Walmart smiling at everyone, trying to bring some good ol’ southern cheer.)
Those power lines *groan*
It snowed! In October! It was awful. OK, maybe “awful” is a strong word, but I’m not much of a snow person, especially wet snow, like this was. Thankfully we were able to stay inside most of the time.
We got to help with some hallway decorations that the students were working on one evening.
We went to this old gym to take some pictures Sunday afternoon. Some people thought we were crazy, but it was cool in a vintage sort of way.
There was a lot of craziness that went on that weekend.
Another part of the hallway decorations: Katy found out all the countries that everyone had been to, then we put pins in all of them.
This banner was a collaborative effort by Stephanie, Katy, Sabrina, and me. <3

This made me so homesick!!! <3 My hubs and I lived about 10 minutes from here most of our lives, and I went to Faith Builders for testing during my years of homeschooling! Now we are in a completely different country and oh how I miss Guys Mills!!
