My friend Emily introduced me to Italian Cream Sodas several years ago, and I just enjoyed one with her a couple of weeks ago. I did it, Emily! I THMed it!
My rendition is a Fuel Pull for Trim Healthy Mamas, meaning that it’s both low carb and low fat. It’s not meant to be an all-day sipper, but you can enjoy it with a meal or snack as a refreshing drink.
Feel free to use your own favorite extract/flavor oil flavor to customize this drink to your tastes. I love the refreshing raspberry version using Raspberry LorAnn Flavor Oil. Serve the drink over lots of ice and make sure you get it sweet enough and you’ll have a coffee-shop-worthy drink at home (for pennies on the dollar of what a Starbucks version would cost)!

You can find this recipe in my cookbook, Necessary Food.

- ¾ cup water
- ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
- Level T Greek yogurt
- 2-3 doonks THM Pure Stevia Extract Powder (a doonk is 1/32 tsp.)
- 1 T Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
- ¼ tsp. vitamin C powder
- 5 drops of Lorann Royal Raspberry flavoring oil
- 1 rounded tsp. vanilla whey protein powder
- Generous dash of vanilla
- Doonk glucomannan (1/32 tsp.)
- Blend for 5-10 seconds. Let set for 10 seconds. Blend again.
- Serve over lots of ice and top with Fat-Free Reddi-Whip if desired.
Substitute your favorite extract or flavor oil for the raspberry, if desired.
For Vitamin C powder, I just use Ball Fruit Fresh. You can find it at a local grocery store.

should my oil have a dropper? I tried adding to one of my small dram bottles with a dropper but that wasn’t enough oil, do you just eyeball the drops?
Hi Vanessa! I think you may have to purchase the dropper separately, but yes, there are droppers made specifically for the tiny bottles of LorAnn flavor oil. 🙂 They always produce great drops for me! I’m afraid I don’t quite understand the wording of your question. Just a regular glass pipette dropper should work fine too.
Today was my first time trying this drink. It is so delicious! It’s rich, creamy and oh, so raspberry! It whips up in no time. I love it! Thanks for the yumminess! Blessings, Kim
Just made this, and totally enjoyed it!
I had to hunt down the raspberry oil before I could try it – found it at the Bulk Barn here in Ontario, Canada.
I’m loving the new cookbook! I’ve tried a couple dozen recipes so far, and have loved each of them – thank you!
I made this but I didn’t have raspberry extract so i added frozen blueberries (and I didn’t pour it over ice since they were frozen). It’s so good! But since I wanted it for my lunch and needed more protein I added some cottage cheese to it and it’s even better!:) thanks for all your awesome recipes Briana!
If I do not have Vanilla whey protein powder, can I substitute something with my plain whey protein powder to keep the taste similar? Or should I try to use the vanilla whey protein?
Your plain protein powder is fine. It’s a very small amount so I doubt you’ll notice much difference.
Loved this! I’m having it a second day in a row with my lunch. It’s perfect paired with an E meal. Or probably perfect paired with anything. Thank you!
I have dairy allergies. Do you have any ideas for substitutions for the Greek yogurt or would leaving that out since it is only 1 T ruin it? Any thoughts? TIA 🙂
It might be OK to just leave it out, but it won’t be as creamy. Maybe add a little more protein powder? I’m sure it won’t taste quite the same, but I’m not sure what you would add in its place. Maybe you could try some coconut milk?
This is amazing!! I used orange oil in place of raspberry oil!! Orange creamsicle!
Awesome idea!
