Light + refreshing + strawberry pink + nostalgic + easy = today’s creamy strawberry milk recipe.
I admit, I enjoyed Nestlé’s strawberry milk as a child. Now I recoil in horror at what must’ve been in that pink powder to make it so pink. (OK, I actually probably don’t shudder as much as I should, but it does slightly gross me out.) Despite the additives, it tasted so good! At least it did back then…. I have a feeling that if I would try it now, it wouldn’t be half as good as I remember it to be. But these are all rhetorical scenarios; I won’t be trying it because I’ve made my own healthy version with real ingredients and the same pink color – no red dye needed!
I’ve been trying to incorporate lighter snacks into my life, and this strawberry milk fits the bill perfectly. It’s a Fuel Pull for Trim Healthy Mamas, but it’s still filling and creamy and packed with protein. It can be a snack on its own, a protein source for your breakfast, or a satisfying dessert after an E meal! It’s also perfect for an evening snack – something to fill your tummy without giving your body lots of excess fuel to burn right before bedtime.

I used collagen in this recipe instead of protein powder because I personally can taste protein powder a mile away in things without strong cover-up flavors. If you have a protein powder you love, feel free to use it instead of collagen. (I’m currently using Great Lakes brand collagen that my friend Andrea from Healthy Family Foods Canada sent to me! Shameless plug for a friend: if you live in Canada and need THM-friendly products, you should definitely check out Andrea’s online store!)
This strawberry milk is best when it’s super cold, so I like to stick a glass in the freezer while I’m making the milk so I have a chilled glass waiting for my creamy pink deliciousness. You’ll notice that the recipe calls for 4 ice cubes. These don’t turn the milk into a shake; rather, they just super chill the milk when blended fine. Speaking of blending, our refurbished Vitamix that we bought a few months ago off of Amazon is still running great! Love it!
Need a dairy-free version? The THM cookbook has one! I had completely forgotten that Trim Healthy Mama had a strawberry milk recipe (I’ve never actually looked at their cookbook all the way through because I like to remain unbiased with my recipe creation), but while I was in the middle of making this recipe I remembered that they had one and looked it up. Lo and behold, it was almost identical to what I had written down as my experiment recipe! That happens more often than you’d think, since we use the same ingredients on a regular basis. Trim Healthy Mama’s recipe is dairy free, so I decided to tweak mine a bit out of respect to their recipe.
I’m loving this strawberry milk so much that I plan to make some tweaked versions of the base recipe in the next couple of weeks! Stay tuned!

I do not recommend using protein powder in this recipe. The taste will be overpowering.

The flavor was good but the texture was weird…I’m new to adding collagen to blended drinks and it makes the texture kind of grainy…similar to how the texture would be if you added a bunch of carrots or something. Is that normal and it just doesn’t bother other people? Or do I have a collagen powder that doesn’t break down as much as others maybe?
No, that’s not normal! I wonder what brand you’re using. I’ve had good results with Great Lakes and THM brands.
This is really good! I left out the vanilla and cottage cheese and it still tasted really good. I also used whole milk which tasted good. But the second time I made it (for the DF side of my family) I used coconut milk it turned a very dark pink color. Not sure what happened?
🤔
No clue! Must have been some kind of chemical reaction!
Mine came out really thick like a strawberry shake. It was yummy though!
That’s strange! Did you add more ice than called for in the recipe?
Another “home run” recipe Briana. This is so good!
Made this yesterday and I love this Strawberry Milk so much, I made it for breakfast today! ( I added whey protein powder for my breakfast.)
This tasted delicious! I used Kal liquid stevia and Gentle Sweet because I don’t love Stevia powder. Also used THM protein powder instead of collagen (I had already eaten collagen fudge). So delicious! Will be making this over and over again!
Perfect! It came in my inbox on a day I was doing a Fuel Pull – love it, so creamy and delicous!
